Pinkham Notch, NH — Mount Washington has an international reputation for its severe and quickly-changing weather conditions, and it once again held true to its nature for the 59th annual Northeast Delta Dental Mount Washington Road Race. Held on June 15th, the morning brought high winds to the summit, with wind chills dropping down into the 20s.

PINKHAM NOTCH, NH — Hundreds of hikers will return to the White Mountains and the mighty Presidential Range for the Mount Washington Observatory’s 19th Annual Seek the Peak (STP) hike-a-thon on July 19-20, the largest annual fundraiser for the summit weather station. The Mt. Washington Auto Road is proud to be a presenting sponsor of this event, which helps to fund the amazing meteorological studies that the organization has been conducting since 1932.

PINKHAM NOTCH, NH — Held on May 25th during Memorial Day weekend, Alton Weagle Day at the Mt. Washington Auto Road was the annual kick-off event to 2019, coinciding with the much-anticipated opening of the Auto Road for its 158th summer season. The Auto Road and Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center have a full line-up of events this summer, but Alton Weagle Day is arguably the most unique.

Green’s Grant, NH – The owners of the Mt. Washington Auto Road, known as the oldest man-made tourist attraction in North America, on Saturday formalized the recommendation of management to promote Tobey Reichert to the position of Assistant General Manager.

Held on Saturday, March 9th, the third-annual Great Glen Trails Winter Charity Day was an event which celebrated active lives, and promoted the spirit of giving. Participants made a donation to the charity of their choice, and then enjoyed a day of Nordic skiing and snowshoeing on our scenic trail system.

During its 23-year history, Ski, Shoe & Fatbike to the Cloudshas grown to become one of New Hampshire’s most iconic winter sporting events. First held in 1997 as Ski to the Clouds, the race quickly became regarded as North America’s Toughest 10K—due primarily to the fact that the final 6 kilometers climbs over 2,200 vertical feet up the Mt. Washington Auto Road.


The Mt. Washington Auto Road in New Hampshire will host a lunch stop on the 2018 Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty Tuesday, June 26, race organizers have announced.

The Glen House, a new 68-room hotel at the base of Mt. Washington, the highest summit in the Northeast, is under construction in Pinkham Notch in New Hampshire’s White Mountains and is expected to open in mid-September, 2018.

ATV riders flocked to the Mount Washington Auto Road on Saturday for the 2017 New Hampshire ATV Day.

A trio of prancing unicorns, a juggling unicyclist, a pair of hula dancers and a poetry-spouting Walt Whitman were among the newest entrants Saturday into the colorful history of the Mount Washington Auto Road inspired by Alton Weagle.
