The Mount Washington Observatory is a private, nonprofit, member-supported institution with a mission to advance understanding of the natural systems that create Earth’s weather and climate. It serves this mission by maintaining a weather station on the summit of Mount Washington, performing weather and climate research, conducting innovative science education programs, and interpreting the heritage of the Mount Washington region.

ROAD STATUS: Closed for the Drive-Yourself Season. Guided Tours are available via SnowCoach (Dec–March) or via Spring Adventure Tours (April).
2 Hour Summer Guided Tours: Reopening in early May, weather permitting.
Base Lodge Gift Shop: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Pinkham Notch Market: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Summit Stage Gift Shop: Closed for the Season
